We thank Jim, for the inspiration that he gave to others by the unceasing voluntary work he did for our Parish over the past number of years.
To list all that he was involved in over the years is an almost impossible task, The following is but a sample: member of the Parish Pastoral Group, The Visitation Team and the Parish Cell Community. The Ecumenical "Lord in the Park" which he organised in Marlay Park with our friends from the neighboring Wesley & Whitechurch Parishes. The outdoor Mass in June in Ballinteer Crescent was a great success and every year he encouraged others to assist him in the organisation.
The counselling service that he organised in the parish which ran on Saturday mornings until the councellors literally ran out of clients. Over the past few years he had to ease back in the many Parish Groups that he was so actively involved in. For many years he was a committed Minister of the Eucharist and Minister of the Word. It is a great credit to him that until the last year or so he would still make himself available as a collector for the Roof Fund when required. When the Baptism Team was set up he was one of the first to volunteer his services. The dedication he put into the Theology courses which he took with the Jesuits in Milltown and the exams which followed each course was remarkable.
Jim Marsh was an inspiration to us all and he was directly responsible for attracting other parishioners into a variety of Parish Groups.
