St Vincent de Paul - Ballinteer Conference

Contact Number : 086 3585314..

The Mission Statement of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Ireland: The Society
of Saint Vincent de Paul is a Christian, voluntary organization, working with poor and disadvantaged
people. Members seek to respond to the call every Christian receives to bring the love of Christ to
those we serve in the spirit of the gospel message: “I was hungry and you gave me to eat.”

The basic unit of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is the Conference and most
parishes in Ireland have one. The members of Saint John the Evangelist Parish Conference
carry out the Society’s mandate mainly by way of home visitation. There in the homes of those in
need they offer friendship and support, listening sympathetically and avoiding judgmental and
patronizing attitudes. Advice is offered only when requested and members always try to resist
the temptation to tell people what they should do. The manner of giving is gentle and ensures that
people do not feel unworthy because they need help.

This Conference would not be in a position to respond to those in need in this Parish
without the help and support of our clergy and the community living here. Your generosity
is wonderful and never taken for granted by those in real need. The monthly collection, normally at
all Masses on the second Sunday monthly, is a reliable and constant source of revenue.

Your response to the annual Christmas Appeal and the frequent individual donations continue to
astound. As you seek to help your neighbour you grow in the love of God.

If you are in need or know of others in need please
contact the Conference at: 086 3585314.

Confidentiality is always respected and maintained
